By making a booking at Château de Riolas, you and your party agree to the following terms and conditions:

Check-in & Check-out Times

Kindly plan to check in between 4pm and 10pm on your day of arrival.

However, we understand that journeys don’t always go as planned, and we won’t leave you stranded in your car if you arrive late! But please let us know if you’re delayed beyond 9pm so that we can ensure someone is up to unlock the door for you!

Please check out of your room by noon on your day of departure. We like you to have the morning to explore the Château de Riolas and its grounds, but after midday, we’ll need to prepare your room for our next guests.

Deposit

When booking, we will take a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the rest payable during your stay. Payments can be made online using debit or credit cards and by digital bank transfer.

Payment

Payment is due before departure by credit or debit card or cash.

Cancelling your booking

The deposit is non-refundable. However, please let us know if there are extenuating circumstances, and we will do our best to find a solution to help you.

If we cancel your booking

While we hope this will never happen, you will be fully refunded if we need to cancel your booking for an unforeseen reason.

Room Choice

While we will do everything we can to give you the room of your choice when booking, we reserve the right to allocate you a different room if necessary.

Car Park

We have uncovered parking for guests on the property. Cars are parked here at their owner’s risk. The main risk is our peacocks, who love nothing more than to pooh on cars.

Damage and Breakages

Please tell us about any damage you cause during your stay so we can repair or replace anything needed. Accidents happen, and we don’t usually charge for them. But if we feel wanton carelessness was present, we reserve the right to charge for repair or replacement.

Windows

Most of the Château windows are over 100 years old, and if they slam, we lose ancient panes of glass. On your windowsill, you will find little wooden blocks. Please use these to jam the windows when they’re open so that they can’t slam shut.

WiFi

We provide WiFi Internet access free of charge. However, we are in a very isolated area with slow and unreliable speeds. We do not accept responsibility for the performance of our WiFi, which is beyond our control.

We ask that guests use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and user usage to maintain a fair level of service for all our guests. Internet access is intended for general use, such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, and light video/music/media streaming. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, or extensive downloads/uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for unlawful activity is prohibited.

Dinners

We offer table d’hôtes evening meals, using, whenever possible, produce from our organic vegetable garden. Please reserve your dinner at least 24 hours in advance, and let us know if you have any dietary requirements. We cannot offer a menu for table d’hôtes by law, but we can cater to any allergies. We cannot guarantee the availability of evening meals, as it depends on whether or not we have a cook in the house!

Liability

Château de Riolas do not accept any liability for damage, loss, or injury to you, any member of your party, or any of your vehicles or possessions.

Lost Property

Any lost property, if discovered and found, will be held for at least 1 month. We are happy to post lost items via recorded delivery at your own cost or can put things aside for collection on a subsequent visit.

Missing Items

We reserve the right to charge for items missing from your guest bedroom.

Pets

We usually do not accept pets but can occasionally do so if we give our consent in advance. We do not have the necessary equipment to look after your pets, so if you receive our permission to bring your little loved one, please ensure you have everything you need. There is a supplemental fee for 1 pet per reservation.

Prices

We reserve the right to change our prices anytime, but existing bookings will remain unaffected.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted within Château de Riolas and its grounds. We will strictly enforce this policy for the safety of our grounds (to prevent fires) and for the health of our animals.

Accessibility

Château de Riolas is a building that is over 100 years old and was unfortunately not designed with accessibility in mind. While we do not have any specific facilities for guests with disabilities, we have one suite on the ground floor. Please, contact us in advance to let us know your requirements, and we can let you know whether it would suit your use.

Termination Policy

All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of mind of all Château de Riolas’ guests and household members at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking immediately if guests do not honor this agreement or cause a disturbance to us or the other guests. In this case, all outstanding accounts must be settled, and no refunds will be made.
